Verbs อะไรบ้างนะ ที่ต้อง + Gerund (V.ing)?

Gerund เป็นการเปลี่ยน V. ให้กลายเป็น N. ดังนั้นสามารถใช้แทนในตำแหน่งของ N. ได้ และจะเป็น V.ing เดี่ยวๆ แบบที่ไม่มี V. to be นำ

• is going >> ไม่ใช่ Gerund เป็น V. ในรูป Present Continuous (V. to be + V.ing)
• Going >> เป็น Gerund

ตำแหน่งของ Gerund

1. เป็น Subject

เช่น Telling your boss about the problem is the right thing to do.

2. หลัง Prepositions

เช่น To prevent the shirt from shrinking, please avoid washing with hot water.

3. V. ชน V. (เป็น Obj. ของ V. ตัวแรก)

เช่น I consider going to the fitness center this weekend.

• For months, the company has resisted changing its accounts system.

• Most elderly people want to continue living at home for as long as they can.
• He kept on telling himself he could finish the project in time.

• We spent $500 fixing the washing machine.
• I wasted 40 minutes waiting for a bus this morning.

• He denies making mistakes in the report.
• I detested spending two hours every day travelling to work and back.
• The committee deferred making a decision until more information is gathered.
